Last night marked the 40th anniversary of the American Music Awards. The evening was filled with video flashbacks, amazing performances and fabulous fashions.
The best performance of the night was easily the Stevie Wonder tribute to Dick Clark. If you missed it, I suggest searching the web and checking it out. Aside from that awesome musical number, I focused on the most important feature of the evening: the red carpet fashion.
I’ve recently been zoning in on the negative aspects of these award shows, which in layman’s terms would be the worst dressed list. This time, I’ve decided to be positive. So without further adieu, here are my top choices for Best Dressed at the AMA’s.
First, we have the beautiful and talented Carrie Underwood. Last night, Carrie sported a purple sequin cap-sleeve gown with a pattern etched down the front. While this isn’t a color that you see everyday, it was definitely the right choice. Following this dress, she wore a black gown, during her performance, and a blue dress, when accepting her award. This quick costume change, however, was nothing compared to the 12 dresses she wore while co-hosting the 2012 CMA’s a few weeks back.
Next, we have the lovely Taylor Swift. Her long-sleeve Zuhair Murad mini dress left her shimmering all the way down to her Jimmy Choo shoes. The dress featured intricate gold bead work and a plunging, open back. Being that this dress is age appropriate and not too fancy, it was perfect for the event.
Looking fierce as usual, Pink definitely deserved to make the best dressed list. The bronze floor-length dress was teamed up with large pear drop style earrings and an edgy rocker do. Being that the blue version of this dress was worn by Kim Kardashian a few months back, it technically falls under the “Bitch Stole My Look” category. However, we’ll let it slide being that Pink wore it best.
Who do you think looked the best last night?
